NSIA Anniversary Scholarship

In recognition of the 56th anniversary of the Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists in 2009, a $1,000 scholarship is to be awarded to a Nova Scotia student entering the second, third or fourth year of the B.Sc.(Agr.) program at NSAC. Selection criteria include interest in the profession of agrology, interest in pursuing a career in the agri-food industry, participation in school and community activities, academic performance and financial need.

Recipient – Megan Robertson is a 4th year B.Sc. (Agr.) student majoring in Animal Science. Her first choice for a career is to become a large animal vet; second to this is a career in genetics. Megan grew up on a Pictou County beef farm where she learned first hand and has been a long time 4-H participant where she held various executive positions. In the community she has helped out with a variety of potluck suppers, senior socials and planting flowers at the church and community hall. At NSAC she has participated in Pre-Vet club, Agrologists club and the Judging team.

Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists Scholarship

The $1,000 NSIA Scholarship is awarded to a Nova Scotia student entering the 3rd year of the B.Sc.(Agr.) program at the NSAC. In awarding the scholarship, the selection committee takes into consideration academic performance, interest in the profession of agrology, interest in pursuing a career in the agri-food industry and financial need.

Recipient – Nicole Monique Lefebvre. Nicole is a 3rd year B.Sc. (Agr.) student majoring in Plant Science. Nicole maintains a high academic average, and is looking toward an agricultural career in the future focusing on sustainable city planning, bioremediation or rural development. Nicole is very active at the NSAC and chairs or has chaired several committees including campus sustainability, WUSC/student refugee program, Shinerama. and community garden. She has been an Orientation Leader, as well as being a board member on the Living Earth Council.

Nicole Monique Lefebvre. Nicole is a 3rd year B.Sc. (Agr.) student majoring in Plant Science. Nicole maintains a high academic average, and is looking toward an agricultural career in the future focusing on sustainable city planning, bioremediation or rural development.
